How To Set Up Dog IV Practice Kit

Unboxing: what’s in the kit?

Each dog IV practice kit includes following accessories:

1. blood infusion bag 100ml x1
2. dog IV model x1
3. IV fluid drip kit x1
4. blood collection syringe x1
5. 60ml syringe x1
6. 60ml syringe long mouth x1
7. bandage tape x1
8. cannula tape x1

How to Infuse Fake Blood to the Kit?

1. mix fake blood powder with clear water. The amount of fake blood powder used depends on how red and visible you want for the simulated blood. Remember to full dissolve the fake blood powder otherwise it will clog the tube.

2. Fill 60ml syringe with fake blood. Use 60m syringe to inject fake blood into 100ml fluid bag. When connecting syringe with fluid bag, make sure to screw the syringe onto the IV bag connector tightly using the threaded design to prevent any leaks.

3. connect fluid bag connector with model tube.

4. Place fluid bag in higher position and see fake blood running through the tube.

5. Close the clamp of the end tube to stop fake blood running out.

You can start your dog IV practice now!

Things to note during training:

1. When doing dog IV catheterization practice, to see flashback effect, please hang the blood infusion bag in a higher position so there is enough blood pressure.
2. If no flashback effect, check if any tube has been clogged.
3. You can detach the fake dog skin and check if fake blood is clogged in the tip of leg core. If yes, please trim the curved sections of the leg core tip slightly to ensure the tubing (veins) doesn’t get pinched or squeezed.

How to Set Up Dog IV Fluid Drip Practice Kit?

1. unplug the stopper from 500ml fluid bag

2. use long mouth syringe to infuse water

3. plug in stopper to prevent leaking(simulated fluid) into 500ml fluid bag fluid bag(pls do not plug in too deep)

4. close roller clamp first

5. For IV drip set up practice, insert sharp end of IV drip kit into fluid bag

6. Open the clamp in the dog IV model end tube to allow IV drip coming in the model

7. You could start your dog IV fluid practice!
